Our on trend wedding props range from our 8ft light up arch; light up letters, numbers and symbols; backdrops; flower and sequin walls; table centrepieces; chair covers; wedding post box and blossom trees to our traditional sweet cart, chocolate fountain and candy floss machine.

We hope you enjoy our little story below - we've grown from a couple of light up numbers for our son's birthday to being able to provide light up letters for your home celebration in lockdown and decor for some of the biggest and most luxurious hotels in the North West.
About Us
A few years ago my son was about to turn 18 and I asked my husband for some light up letters to display at his party.
He searched on line but the majority of companies hiring light up letters only had the words ‘LOVE’ and ‘MR & MRS’ – the ones that did have the letters and numbers we wanted were really expensive. So, I asked him to make some.
Chris has been a builder/joiner since completing his apprenticeship after school and his skills for making things are completely off the scale. He made me a rocking horse for my 30th birthday and it’s beautiful!
So, Seth had his name and age in lights for his birthday and they looked amazing so when a friend asked if we had ‘30’ in light up numbers – we said ok, and Sweetness and Lights Events was born!
Creating them wasn’t without problems though – we had lots of 'discussions' and even fitted the wrong bulbs into the letters before we found a company that supplied fairground lights to clients all over the world, needless to say we've learned a lot and perfected our lights and decor to what you see today.
Now, not only do we now have all the alphabet (most of it twice and in some cases, 3 of certain letters), all the numbers (most of them twice too) Chris has created our beautiful 8ft love heart light up arch. We can also supply the lights in different colours - something that other companies are quickly catching up on.
We have expanded our range of décor to include:
- Venue Dressing - tablecloths, chair covers and sashes, etc
- Backdrops - fairy light backdrops, flower and foliage walls and sequin wall
- Centrepieces - fishbowls, cylinder vases, blossom trees, martini glasses, flower arrangements and candelabras
- Yummy Goodies – sweet cart, chocolate fountain, candy floss, doughnut and cupcake walls
Running a business can be challenging but we took advice, signed up to training courses, applied our own experiences and expertise and even set up this website! We continue to train, consult with our peers and learn something every day.
Due to my career, I have been able to see luxury and unique finishing touches at 5* hotels around the world and I also understand delivering the importance of service excellence and trust when engaging with a new company. I have spent the last 30 years in customer service and I know how important it is to be able to trust your supplier and know that they have as much commitment invested in your special day as you have.
We constantly source, search, train for the next big thing and want to create something a little different for our clients – something a little more bespoke and exclusive. We personalise a lot of our décor, making it absolutely unique to you and we create a lot of our items in collaboration, sharing and discussing ideas with you, so that you get an event that you and your guests will remember and service that you are totally blown away by.
Trust is a big thing for us too – we’ve listed all our prices for individual items but if you book several things with us, we’ll show our appreciation by adding value and putting packages together for you.
